About The Teacher

My husband and I live in Bay City and we NOW have 3 daughters; Amelia (3), 
Nora (2), and Lea (5 months old). We also have a 
dog named Parker.

Some of my hobbies include golfing, swimming, and reading. I also love to 
spend time with my friends and family. I have 2 nieces named Emma and 
Addison and 1 nephew named Jakob.

The 2009-2010 school year will be my tenth year teaching. In addition to 
teaching third grade, I have also taught kindergarten, fourth grade, and 
summer school.

I graduated from Central Michigan University where I also completed my 
Master's Degree in Classroom Teaching.

Guidelines for a Successful Year in Third Grade

The student will:
-Show respect for him/herself and the rights of others
-Be responsible for completing and turning in quality work assignments
-Display good listening skills and follow directions
-Follow classroom rules
-Meet or exceed the academic expectations for third grade
-Work effectively in cooperative groups

The family will:
-Look at and show interest in their child’s work focusing on success and/or 
improvement
-Contact the teacher as soon as a concern arises
-Participate in conferences and school activities
-Read with their child
-Talk positively with their child each day

The teacher will:
-Maintain an orderly and safe environment
-Respect and teach to individual learning styles
-Be professional, caring and prepared
-Have high, but valid, expectations for all children
-Make contact with parents regularly
-Continue to develop professionally
