| Week of October 22
We are having some BIG problems with homework. Students are not getting
their work done, which is resulting in low grades. We have offered recess
time both morning and lunch, we have sent reminders home, we have talked with
parents, and we now have to go to the next step. The next step being students
with more than 2 missing assignments will not participate in the Halloween
activities planned for Wednesday, October 31st. The students will instead go
to the office or life skills room and work on their missing work. We will
enforce this missing homework policy throughout the year. Whenever there is a
field trip or classroom party students with more than 2 missing assignments
will not participate.
Students have been given many reminders of the assignments they are missing;
this weekend would be a good weekend to work on those assignments. We would
like to have everyone participate in our fun activities.
If you have any questions please contact us via email or phone. Thanks for
your help in this matter.
Week of October 8
This week the students had their reading logs to complete. It was also a
week for those who needed to complete make up work to get caught up. Daily
homework was not assigned due to the heavy testing we did throughout the week.
Week of October 1
This week was a pretty typical week of homework. You should have seen
math, social studies and of course the reading logs. The up coming week will
probably be a little light due to MEAP.
Week of September 24th
It was a short week. The students had math, social studies, and science
homework. Reading Logs are due on Thursday this week due to camp.
Week of September 17th
Homework is getting itself into a routine. Students, this week, had
social studies and math. Our Language Arts is still working on writing and
reading tests questions. Reading Logs are also due every Friday.
Week of September 10th
This week we began getting use to our routine. There was homework on a
few nights. It included math and social studies. The students were also
suppose to be reading 20 minutes a night and fill out their reading logs.
Reading logs will be a weekly assignment. Students will receive their logs on
Monday and then turn them in on Friday. The reading logs do require a parent
signature.
Week of September 4th
Our focus this week was to create a comfortable and caring environment.
During the day we worked on team building activities as well as get to know
each other activities. The homework this week was very light and we
concentrated on having the students get their forms back to us. We hope you
have a great weekend.
Friday folders will be coming home today (9/7). Check them out, they are
filled with lots of important information. Also, please sign them and return
them to school on Monday.
