Here we are, about a month and a half into our instrument playing. We have
made it through Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 in our book, and are in the process of
taking our first playing test (Ode to Joy). The students are learning how to
have a successful rehearsal, the expectations in a strings class, and how to
play a few songs. Our first concert is approaching! It will take place on
Tuesday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. in our own Franklin gym. Students should
plan to report at 5:30, dressed in the appropriate uniform.
The uniform is:
all white shirt
all black pants/skirt
all black socks/nylons
all black shoes

immediately!**
Songs to be played in the concert may be found in Unit 4, and are:

Are You Sleeping?
Chanukah, Chanukah
There may also be an honors string group. We will determine what song(s) that
group will play by the 25th. Stay tuned for details!
