Hello second grade families and friends! I am excited to begin my 35th
year of teaching! I know...that means I am really old but it also means I
have a lot of experience to bring to the classroom! I love everything about
teaching second grade and cannot imagine doing anything else. I really have
a passion for teaching and learning. I am one of those teachers who never
wants to be out of the classroom!
I graduated from Western Michigan University with both BA and MA degrees
in Special Education. I loved teaching students with special needs and
taught in Resource Rooms for the first 18 years of my career. All the
remaining years have been in second grade.
I come from a very large family and was born and raised in Indiana. Now
I live in Portage with my husband. Our three children are
adults now and we see them often. We are blessed with a granddaughter who is
three years old. I am a Michigan and Notre Dame fan. My father taught physics
at Notre Dame and two of my children have attended the University of
Michigan. So, I cheer for both teams. Of course, when Michigan plays ND I
say ....GO BLUE!
