This week we continued our subtraction chapter. We learned the answer to a
subtraction problem is called the difference. We also learned when you
subtract zero from a number; the difference will be that number. We learned
how to write and solve vertical subtraction problems. We will complete this
chapter next week and begin our graphing chapter.
In reading we practiced the short /e/, /j/ and /f/ sounds. We read a story
about different ways people travel around the world. We learned that
when “ed” is added to the end of a word it makes the word past tense.
Included in your child’s Friday Folder is a Conference Appointment
Confirmation form. Please review your scheduled time and let me know
immediately if you will be unable to attend your scheduled time.
Unfortunately, a large number of people requested Wed. evening and it was
necessary to schedule some conferences at your second preferred time. I will
do my best to accommodate your needs. Also, please take the time to fill out
and return the pre-conference form. This will help insure we discuss all
your concerns during the short time we have together. Thank you!
Also, please read the included form regarding our field trip to the Kalamazoo
Nature Center on Dec. 3rd. Please send in the $5 fee to school by Wed.
11/18/09. If you would like to chaperone, please fill out and return the
bottom portion of the form. Sorry no siblings are permitted to attend with
our class.
