website under "Accelerated Reader."

******Historical Fiction due December 14! ******

General:
A parent should sign the student planner each night. I will be checking for
this. Parents may also write notes to me here. Bus notes should be
separate because they need to go to the office.

Reading:
When we are reading a story from the Open Court book, there will be a
comprehension test (open book) on Thursday and a Vocabulary/Spelling test
every Friday.

We will also be reading books for Accelerated Reader. Each student will
have a marking period points goal. Meeting this goal will be part of the
reading grade. These results and goals can be found in the student AR
notebook.
Except for AR reading and studying for vocabulary/spelling tests, the only
reading homework will usually be work not completed in class. Most students
will have time to finish all work in the class period.

***Late Homework Policy: Homework turned in one day late will receive an
automatic 20% reduction in the grade. Homework turned in more than one day
late will receive a 0%. Please make sure your child is putting homework in
the binder and coming to school with it each day.
