Do I have to sign my child's planner every day?
Please do! The planner has proven to be a most excellent method of communication between school and home. By signing it, I know you have seen what work was done that day, and can monitor any work that needs to be completed. Plus, I can easily jot a note to you, or you to me, in the planner.Back to Top

What is the best way to communicate between home and school?
As mentioned above, the planner can be used, since I check it at school and you check it at home. You can also email me at northeyj@huron.k12.mi.us. I check my email several times a day. Please remember, however, that although there are telephones in the classrooms, calling the school to speak to the teacher isn't very viable. Stopping a lesson to answer the phone not only disrupts the flow of the lesson but leads to 24 sets of ears listening to my half of the conversation. If you ever feel the need for a face-to-face meeting, just let me know. We can arrange a time prior to school at 8:15, or immediately after school, at 3:45. It is vital to keep the lines of communication open between us!Back to Top
