Hi, my name is Mrs. Calkins. I am one of three, fourth grade teachers at
Brown Elementary School in New Boston Huron School District. I am married
and have three daughters. We live on a farm where I enjoy raising sheep,
rabbits, and ducks. We also have two dogs and numerous cats! I like to
garden, travel, go camping,fish and play and watch sports, but my favorite
thing to do is spend time with my family and friends.
I also enjoy learning new things and feel that life is a daily learning
experience! I am a graduate of Monroe County Community College where I
earned an Associate of Science degree, Wayne State University where I earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and also a Master's
Degree in Instructional Technology. This classroom Website is part of my
final Master's project!
I am looking forward to an exciting and challenging school year as my
students and I learn new things together from each other everyday.
I believe that we are all lifelong learners. Our mission is to work together
cooperatively to learn not only the academic subjects in fourth grade, but
also the life lessons that will make each of us better citizens in our
community and our world.
