A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER
March is Reading Month!!! We have lots of special activities planned for this month. From designing bookmarks to reading bingo, we hope this month gets the students EXTRA excited about reading. I wish everyone a wonderful first week of March!!
Last week, I started reading testing the students. I am so proud of all of the progress that the students have made in their reading levels. The students' updated levels will be included with their upcoming report cards.
MONDAY, MARCH 9TH: NO SCHOOL
Next Monday is a Report Card Writing day, so students do not have school that day. Report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, March 17th.
IN MATH THIS WEEK
We have begun Unit 8 this week, which focuses primarily on Area and Perimeter. Please ask your child to sing the "Area and Perimeter" song to you.
IN WRITING THIS WEEK
Students will continue to work on their Research Reports in class this week. The students are writing their reports on the different regions of the United States.
Thing-A-Mabobbles are weekly math challenge problems that students may attempt from home or from school. They are always due on the Friday of the week that they are assigned.
