A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER
We had a really fun Science presentation last week led by Jacob's parents. The students learned a lot about how temperature affects matter, and this will tie in well with their upcoming Matter Unit.
With this being the week of Thanksgiving, I would like to extend my thanks to all of my students and their families for a great year so far. I appreciate you all very much, and you make me happy to be a teacher. I hope that everyone enjoys the time with their family and friends.
And... a special thank you to Domenico and Zack's moms for organizing our Thanksgiving feast!! Thank you to all parents who contributed something to our feast, too.
THANKSGIVING READING LOG
Students will be given a reading log to complete over the break. There will be awards given to the top three students with the most minutes logged. Students should turn in their logs on Monday, December 1st.
Thanks to students that have donated towards the coin drive to support the United Way. The drive will continue until the Thanksgiving break.
IN MATH THIS WEEK
We have begun Unit 5 this week, which focuses primarily on big numbers and multi-digit multiplication.
IN WRITING THIS WEEK
I am excited to display the students' autobiographies in the hallway. They each designed a cover for their piece this past week.
Thing-A-Mabobbles are weekly math challenge problems that students may attempt from home or from school. They are always due on the Friday of the week that they are assigned. MOBY MAX
Congrats to the five students that earned the most points in their Moby account. There will be a new extra credit contest beginning this week. Students are also going to bring home their Moby Progress Reports each month, so that parents can see what progress they make in their accounts each month.
