A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER
As a U of M alum, it was a disappointing football weekend; however, we will have seasons where we will turn things around.   Go Blue!!!

I hope that parents will find parent/teacher conferences to be worthwhile and informative.  I placed conference reminder notes in each student's Friday folder.  I explained to the students that they are welcome to attend conferences, but it is up to parents on whether or not they would like for their child to be in attendance.  I wish everyone a fun Halloween week!!

DTE KITS

Students took home their DTE Energy Kits this past week.  They should turn in the survey at the end of their packet by Friday, December 5th.   After I collect the students' surveys, we will be eligible for a mini-grant from DTE.

IN MATH THIS WEEK
Students took the Unit 3 test last week, and I was happy to see the progress that they made from the pretest. Students will bring home their tests on Monday to be signed.  We will begin Unit 4 this week, which focuses primarily on decimals.

IN WRITING THIS WEEK
Last week, we began a new writing genre of Autobiography.  This is always an exciting opportunity for students to share information about themselves as individuals.

A NOTE FROM MS. WEBSTER RE: HALLOWEEN

As you make a decision about your child’s costume, please keep in mind that a costume worn should be one that doesn’t cause fear or won’t be found to be offensive to individuals or ethnic groups. No weapons or replicas are allowed even though they may be part of the costume. Remember, costumes do not have to be purchased from a store. Rather, encourage children to create their own. Teachers will soon be sharing their specific times for classroom parties. If you do not want your child to participate in the activities, please let the teacher know in advance. Lastly, children are NOT to wear their costume to school.  Rather, they will be allowed to change into their costume during their classroom party.

MOBY MAX
I have posted the first EXTRA CREDIT contest for Moby Max, so students can login to view the contest.  This contest will run through Friday, October 31st.   Students are going to bring home their Moby Progress Reports each month, so that parents can see what progress they make in their accounts each month.
