The students will bring home their
"Homework Folder" each night. This will contain any homework assignments for
the day as well as any assignments that have been checked in class. Upon
arrival in the morning, the students will complete a "Morning Worksheet" that
reviews various math and language skills. We will check this together in
class, and the students will bring it home (to stay) in their folder. The
students will then be given a corresponding "Math Homework" sheet to be
completed at home. Please review the "Morning Worksheet" with your child, then
have them complete the "Math Worksheet" independently. You may review and
correct it with them when they have finished. This assignment must be returned
to school the next day.
Students will also bring home any
assignments that they did not complete in class. These assignments are also
due the next day and should be found in the "Homework Folder". For some
subjects, students will need to bring their books home as we do not always
tear the pages out of the books.
Students also need to read for
approximately 20 minutes each night. This reading can be accomplished in a
variety of ways: having your child read aloud to you, reading with your child,
and having your child read independently. Also, remember that they are NEVER
to old to be read aloud to. The best approach would be to choose a variety of
these reading activities.
