What can my child bring in for snack?

We will be having snack everyday during the morning. It is very
important
that your child bring in healthy snacks. I know that it is hard
to always
have fruits and veggies available but please keep the sugar
content low.
Examples of some healthy snacks are : crackers, cheese, pretzels,
graham
crackers fresh fruits and veggies. I encourage the students to
always have
a water bottle available with a pull-up top.

How can I help my 1st grader at home?

The best thing to do is to check their backpack and b.b.t. folder
for
homework and notes. Homework is sent home on Fridays and is due
back on or
before the following Friday. Please make sure you are reading to
your child
everyday and have them read to you. They will have a sheet of
reading
strategies in their folder that you can use as you read
together. They will
also be bringing home books to read in a colored book bag during
the week. Make
sure you ask your child every day what they did in school.
