Homework

Class Rules:

l.  Assignments are due on the day posted.  Late assignments will be graded 
down one grade per week.  If an assignment is 
late, the student needs to turn it in to Mrs. Ensberg's mailbox in the 
office 
signed and dated by Mrs. Welte.  The only exceptions to this rule are 
excused 
absences from school on the day the assignment is due.
It is expected corrections will be made on all theory books/papers/etc.  
Students have one week from receiving their work back to do these corrections.

2.  Assignments are not to be done in ink-pencil only or typed.

3.  Notebooks will be turned in each term and are expected to be neat, 
orderly and up to date.  All papers need to be saved and filed.  Students 
are 
to bring notebooks to EVERY CLASS!!! 

5.  If a test or quiz is missed, the student has two weeks to make 
arrangements with the instructor to make up the test.  This is the student's 
responsibiity.

6.  Each student has a study-buddy.  Any missed assignments or papers handed 
out in class are to be collected from the study buddy.  Extra hand-outs are 
not kept by the instructor.


7  Junior High students will have a seating chart for music class.

8th grade:  3rd term:Jan. 2012

There will be a weekly assignment sheet for parents to sign.  Students are expected to practice 5 
days a 
week, 15 minutes per day.  The assignment sheet will have chord of the week to memorize, and 
chords 
to work on learning.  There will also be 2-3 songs to work on at home.

7th grade; 3rd term:  Jan. 2012

We will be focusing on Music History.  Assignments are to be written in planners and will be posted 
in the 7th grade classroom.
For Jan 17, a picture of the composer assigned each student and that composers biography is to be 
brought to class.  This is to be run off from the computer.  It is needed to do the in-class project.
Also, a picture of an instrument of the student's choice and that instruments history needs to be run 
off from the computer and brought to class.

We will spend the first 4-5 weeks of the term working on an in-class project.  Students will need to 
fill in information, pictures and decorate a  project sheet.(These are provided.) This is dealing with 
music history.

6th grade: 3rd term: Jan. 2012

These students will be focusing on I, IV, V chords by playing instruments in class.  Reinforcement
of theory skills (reading notes, note values) are attained by a different song per week performed in 
class.  We will also be covering the 4 music periods and working in our theory books.
Assignments will be posted in the classroom and in planners students need to bring for each class.

5th grade;  3rd term:  Jan. 2012

Students are covering the life of Mozart and the classical period.  There will be assignments in the 
theory book and a project for Mozart.  This will be posted when assigned.

4th grade;  3rd term:  Jan. 2012

A weekly practice sheet is given on Tuesday-each student is expected to practice 5 days a week, 15 
minutes a day.  Parents will need to sign the sheet weekly.
Theory is given on Tuesday and due on Thursday's.  Students are expected to correct all mistakes 
and to keep the theory sheets and practice sheets in their binder.
