Prior to working at Gaines, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree with a
major in Psychology and minor in Sociology from University of North Carolina-
Greensboro. Upon completion, I was employed as an Auto Insurance Underwriter
at an area insurance company for 8 years. I continued my education at
University of Michigan-Flint where I obtained my Teacher's Certification in
Elementary Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Language
Arts. After substitute teaching at various local school districts for about
5 years, I was welcomed into the Swartz Creek Community School district. It
has been an unbelievable experience! I am currently working towards a "Master
in the Art of Teaching" with a concentration in Elementary Mathematics
through Marygrove College. Only one more year to
go!
On a personal note...my husband, Ron, and I have 3 children, Erica, Logan,
and Emma. I am very fortunate that they will all be alumni of Gaines
Elementary School. I can't think of a better place for any of us to
be!
