Hello and Welcome!
Wow! This year has gone by very quickly. We are in the process of learning
skills to help us next year at the Sixth Grade Academy. Some of these skills
are doing research reports, more difficult assignments within the classroom
(things to make us use higher levels of thinking), more small group
assignments to show us that we can work as a team. These things will help us
to be better students next year as well as helping us to finish off this year
strong and proud.
We will be doing end of the year testing very soon. Right now we are
reviewing math concepts that we will be testing on within the next week or
two. We then will be taking post tests in Science, Social Studies, and Writing.
This time of the year students become less focused and stray off task very
easily. Please remind your child that there is still much more learning to
take place between now and the end of the year activities. With your help we
can finish off the year on a great note!
Before you know it, it will be 5th grade graduation time. This is a very
exciting time for our 5th grade students. Our graduation date is Tuesday,
June 5. The time has not yet been set as of yet. We will have our ceremony
in the am, followed by a luncheon for students and teachers, and then to end
off the day the Dance.
Watch for further updates and activities.
As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to
call or drop me an e-mail. I will get back to you as quick as possible.
