Hello St. Patrick family and friends! My name is April Wenceslao and I am
so excited to be a part of the St. Patrick family again this school year.
I was born in the Philippines, and moved to Madison Heights, MI with my
family when I was six. I have been a Michigander ever since, enjoying fresh
apple cider in the fall and swimming the Great Lakes in summer.
I received a B.A. in Elementary Education at Michigan State University (go
green!) in 2008 and completed a full year teaching internship in a Detroit
Public School second grade classroom in the 2008-2009 school year. During
this time, I also completed parts of my masters degree in Curriculum
and Teaching. I recently completed my catechist certification at the Sacred
Heart Seminary College in Detroit. This is my third year teaching first grade
at St. Pat's.
Communication with parents and families is essential in having students reach
their highest potential. With that said, I strive to have you informed of the
many happenings in 1st grade. Along with the many notes that I plan on
sending home, this site is a great source for finding out what your
child is learning.

Food/Drink: I love fruit, dark chocolate, cheese and anything organic! I also
love sipping on green
tea!
Hobbies:
I love to run, especially anywhere that has great scenery.
I travel as much as I can, visiting some of my best friends who live all over
the country.
I love exploring places I have never been to.
I love to sing- kareoke is a big thing in my family!
I love reading books on education, faith and stories that make me laugh and
cry.
I collect ornaments!
I am a BIG Michigan State fan! GO GREEN!
I enjoy spending time with my big, loud family and friends
