Dear Parents,
Hope everyone had a safe and restful Thanksgiving break. The upcoming month
will be very exciting yet stressful for your first grader. Please remember to
keep them on schedule with bedtime, homework time, etc. This will make the
holidays “very merry.”
Monday the doors will open for Bingo for Books at 6:00. You are also welcome
to visit the Book Fair in the Media Center.
Friday we will have an addition facts test on +3’s. You will know your child
has mastered the facts when they are able to write the answer without using
any manipulative such as counting on fingers or counting other objects. It is
extremely important that we have mastered the facts as we are soon ready to
go onto memorization of subtraction facts.
Friday we will have Theme 4 Week 1 vocabulary and spelling test.
Have a fun week!!!! First Grade Teachers
P.S. YOUR CHILD MAY NEED SUPPLIES SUCH AS PENCILS, GLUE STICKS, ERASERS, ETC.

Dear Parents,
The First Graders will be writing letters to Santa Claus. The letters will be
published in the Canby News.
Since some of the items the children ask for from Santa are difficult to
spell, please help your child print what they would like for Christmas on the
lines below. We also talk about the North Pole and things they would like to
know about Santa.
One question I would like to ask Santa is
______________________________________________________________________________

For Christmas, I want _______________________because
