Carry billfolds and purses in front. Fanny packs instead of purses are a good idea. Chaperones will hold on to extra cash for you if you have a problem of not budgeting or are in fear of losing it.

The school is responsible for loading the bus.  It will be each person’s responsibility to get belongings to the bus and possibly load them.

Be prompt for any departure; don’t keep the whole group waiting.

You must ride on the same bus at all times, unless given special permission by the Director.  The Director will designate Chaperone(s) to take attendance on each bus before every departure.

Upon arrival at all stops, stay seated on the bus until instructions are given, tickets distributed, etc.  This will save time and confusion.

Keep the buses clean and neat.  Do not damage the buses in any way.  They are our home for four days. Food and drink may be consumed while traveling as long as the trash hits the trashcan.  These are nice buses, and we want to return them in the same condition.

Keep the noise levels down on the bus. The bus drivers need to be able to concentrate on what they are doing without distractions.

Use the restrooms on the bus for emergencies only. The bus is going to make stops along the way.

The hotel has other guests so keep the noise level at a minimum.

The phones will be shut off for long distance. You will have to use a lobby phone if you call long distance. Leave the hotel number with your parents if they need to call you in an emergency. The school will have this number also. The phones will be hooked up to call other rooms. No phone calls after midnight. Everyone needs to sleep.

You are not to participate in any activities, which might endanger your safety or the safety of another individual.

Keep your room locked if you are not in it. Trust no one. Things can be lifted in a split second. Rooms are to be locked while you are sleeping. Chaperones will announce their names outside your door so that you know it is not a stranger trying to get in. Keep track of the key, one person in the room in charge.

The hotel has a security guard on duty.

Chaperones will be on duty all night long.

The Director has all of the medical information with her on the trip.  However, it is a good idea for you to carry your medical insurance card numbers in case of emergency.

A serious infringement of these guidelines may result in the student being sent home on the first available (direct) flight.  After a conference with the parents and/or guardians, a final decision concerning the matter will be made by the director and the school administrator.  The expense of this procedure is taken care of by the parents and/or guardians.
