Band Boosters Newsletter       Vol. 3  November 2006

The Band Boosters board for this year consists of Brenda Owens, Mark Mason, Nick Fisher-Broin, Georgann Malone, and Deanna Quinn. The board met on October 12^th and November 11th to plan fund-raising events for this year. The next Band Booster meeting is scheduled for January 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the band room. Please mark your calendar—all band parents are welcome to attend the meetings and your participation is needed. Please provide your e-mail addresses and notice of upcoming meetings and events will be e-mailed to you.

Band Booster Christmas Tree and Wreath Sales to be Held at

New Location: Ace Hardware Nov 24-Dec 10

Band Booster tree and wreath sales will be held the first Friday after Thanksgiving through 2nd weekend in Dec (3 weekends). Hours of the sales will be Friday evenings from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00 p.m. Ace Hardware volunteered to take money for trees during business hours when the tree stand is not staffed by Band Boosters. Band director, Mr. Scalise has posted a sign-up sheet for students to volunteer to sell trees (with an adult) for 2 hour shifts. Trees will be provided again this year by Sheldon and Mary Schiebe. Volunteers are needed to set up the stand and load and deliver trees on Saturday, November 18th. Contact Mr. Scalise to sign up.  Sharon Larson is providing the wreaths and sprays. Thanks to Deb Klegen and Janae Blakeslee for organizing the presales for wreaths at the high school and elementary school.

Band Boosters will Provide Refreshments and Hold Raffle for

Christmas Wreaths at December 4th Band Concert

Band Boosters will provide refreshments immediately following the December 4th high school band concert. The concert will start at 7:00 p.m. Band Boosters will also be raffling off two Christmas wreaths, made by Sharon Larson. Raffle tickets will be sold before the concert for $1.00 each.

Steel Drum Band will perform at Education Foundation

Fundraiser January 26^th

The Steel Drum band will be performing at the annual fund raiser for the Education Foundation to be held at the Cannon River Winery on January 26, 2007. Watch the newspaper for details.

The 2006-2007 Band Booster newsletter will be published twice a year, in the fall and spring. The newsletter will be e-mailed to all band parents who have provided e-mail addresses and posted on the school website at www.cannonfallsschools.com. Contact Brenda Owens with any band information that you would like to have included in the newsletter.
