Students have started the “Mystery Festival” (the forensics unit.) The “Crime Scene” was up in my room for two days at the beginning of the week. Students collected evidence and began to make some inferences about what happened to our “victim.” So far students should have journal two times in their 3-ring binders.
1st and 3rd hours went to “Forensics School” on Friday. They learned how to identify fingerprints and how to perform chromatography on pen ink. Two important forensic techniques we will use in our labs later. 2nd and 7th hours will attend “Forensics School” on Tuesday next week.
We will continue with our mystery all next week looking at our scenario, suspects and starting into the forensic testing of evidence.
I gave 1st and 3rd hour classes a tic-tac-toe assignment on Friday (3rd and 7th will get it on Tuesday.) I have attached a link with the list in the Mystery Festival section of my website.
