Objectives:    Students will gain knowledge about magnetism and electricity.  Students will explore electromagnetism, magnetism, conductivity, insulators, series circuits, parallel circuits, diagraming circuits, and telegraphs.

Vocabulary: See vocabulary link below. Vocabulary words need to be written correctly, numbered, underlined, include part of speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb), and have the science definition for each word.

Assignments: Students will do various lab activities, reading assignments, vocabulary, and video reviews. They will also learn to diagram circuits. I will e-mail home updates periodically during the unit through "Cougar Communications."   

Evaluation:   All labs and activities are graded. There is a final at the end of the unit and several quizzes. See end of the unit review link below to see unit review.

Web Quest: Students have the opportunity in this unit to test out of chapters if they have enough prior knowledge on the topic.  The students who test out will have alternative activities or extensions through the web quest below.
