Ready For Kindergarten (4-6 year olds)

Ready For Kindergarten!

Register your child early for fall classes!  Must be four years old by September 1, 2011 to participate.  Class size is limited.

The goal for those students who would be kindergarteners in the fall of 2011 is to know 33 percent of their letters.  On average, our four-year-old students in the 2009-10 program knew 80 percent of their letters.  This is exciting data to illustrate the benefits of our Ready For Kindergarten program.

We are proud to continue our Ready for Kindergarten for children ages four to six.  Pre-K programs have been offered in more than thirty states across the country and have proven to be very effective in preparing students with the essential skills necessary to perform well in school.  Programs that experts consider high quality include small class size, low teacher-student ratios, and learning goals that are tied to local K-3 standards.  This is exactly the format that our school can offer to families in our area.

Research has shown...

• Children in full-day programs learn more during the year in reading and math.

• Children who participate in Pre-K programs show substantial improvement in future school performance.

• A strong connection between preschool & kindergarten will better prepare students.
