Today students will be bringing home a permission slip for the movie,
National Treasure. This movie will be shown to the 5th graders on Wed, Nov.
25th to emphasize the social studies they have been learning. The movie is
rated PG, so parent permission is necessary. Please read the letter and
return it with your preference.
If some of you are traveling next week to visit family or friends, have
a safe trip. Enjoy the time with your loved ones. I know that I am
anticipating my Thanksgiving dinner this year.

     Sincerely,

     Mrs. Mary Schleicher

The Hawk Heroes this week are Cece Noll and Colton Riebel.
Congratulations! You are great models for the younger students at Rice Lake.
Reminder: Field trip form and money is due 11/20.
I have been told that only ONE CHAPERONE per class can go on this field
trip due to limited seating. I have six names already, so I will draw names
once all forms have been turned in to school. Each parent that checked "YES"
on the forms will be notified if their name was drawn or not.
     Enjoy the weekend!

     Sincerely,

     Mrs. Mary Schleicher

Two major tests are complete (science and social studies). Now it
should be back to regular assignments. Thank you to all the students who
studied hard for the big tests. Your efforts will pay off when you see all
the correct answers on the tests.
The flu bug has finally hit students in our class. Continue to remind
students to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer frequently. We have been
cleaning the tables with disinfectant wipes about once a week. Getting lots
of sleep and regular meals helps the immune system too.
I shared a quote with students yesterday that I think parents will
appreciate. Here it is:

Only as high as I reach can I grow.
Only as far as I seek can I go.
Only as deep as I look can I see.
Only as much as I dream can I be.
                                     by Karen Ravn

We discussed what the author meant by these statements. It made for a
lively discussion.
Enjoy the rest of the week!

          Sincerely,

     Mrs. Mary Schleicher
