![]() Miss Murphy's NewsletterMay 21-25, 2012 So --we are on to our last week of 4th Grade . I hope everyone will look back on the year as one of many opportunities to learn new things, sharpen skills, learn more about God's love and have some fun along the way. I have been very happy with this class and will hold fond memories of the days we spent together. This week we will finish up a few things - including a "big" test on those Southwest States- all four of them. Everyone should also remember to complete their last little booklet on the Western or Southwestern state. We will do some Accelerated Math practices and do some games for math. In religion we will review God's Ten Commandments and some of the teachings of Jesus that lead us to living as a Christian. We will learn a bit more about the exploration of oceans in science and do some reading activities. Our AR store is today (Monday) but the fourth graders are still trying to make that 45 perfect AR tests before the end of the year - so they may still be reading & testing for AR. Everyone will be involved with helping me clean up and put away the classroom the last couple of days this week. They will also be ready to help those classes that are making the moves to new classrooms for next year. Please be sure anything that belongs to the school is returned by Friday - AR books, any references - like an atlas or dictionary that was borrowed, any of my personal books they used for science, social or AR. They will need to clean their desks and bring home all their "stuff" on Thursday and Friday, so they may want an extra bag or two to carry stuff home. The science projects also need to make it home. Last week we had the opportunity to attend the "Water Festival". Be sure to checkout the pictures of some of the activities we did on my website, and have your child explain what they did and some of the interesting things they learned that day. Thanks again for all you have done this past year to help us all have a great year. I appreciated all the trust you showed in allowing me to share your child for the year and your asking questions when you wondered about things at school. Thanks you for the encouraging words and notes and the gifts you gave to me. It all makes a teacher's job easier - especially on those days when patience wears a bit thin. I will continue to include all of you in my prayers and hope you have a wonderful summer. Please feel free to contact me during the summer if anything comes up concerning your child that you feel I may be able to help with - including prayers! God Bless You - Miss Murphy ![]() |
