Science Club for 2011-12 will once again be all 8th graders. I have room to let 35 students sign-up, knowing not everyone can make every meeting. The club meets only during 1st and 3rd trimesters, once a month, since basketball and the play make it very difficult to schedule a meeting in the winter. I provide a variety of topics in different science areas, focusing on fun, thinking, and experience. Students chip in to provide refreshments each meeting, and many of the competitions we do are celebrated with little prizes for the winners. We have a lot of fun with the club, so hope to see you sign up in the fall!

I focus on making science fun and amazing and current. We have done so many different things over the 8 years I've been doing this, and I make sure nothing is repeated if students are members during both their 7th and 8th grade years. Twice, we have been able to work in a special overnight outing as a club. We have done an overnight at Underwater Adventures at Mall of America, where we slept in the tunnel that goes through the water, and an overnight at the Minnesota Zoo. We slept in front of the dolphin and shark tanks. It was awesome!
