ART

January is here!  Eighth grade is working on multi media images that they started before break during their art class and will start using a program called Scratch in Art/Tech. Should be exciting.  Seventh grade is doing two projects at the same time.  They have sculpted images representing symbols of everyday life. We will be finishing them soon.  The other project is an Art/Tech project using a program called Seashore.  This is a design unit about stamps.

Art Club is meeting every Monday morning at 7:30 am. 37 students have made the commitment to this club.  It is great to see the excitement about art through these students.

"Those who sing pray twice." St. Augustine

The choir will have the opportunity to sing at a St. Joseph Parish Mass on Sunday, January 29th at 9:00a.m. for Catholic School's Week.  We are very excited to give back to the parish by sharing our time and talent.  The choir should come to the church by 8:45 to warm-up and practice before Mass.  We hope you can join us!

The General Music Classes continue to work on the guitar.  It is fun to see them progress as they learn how to hold and play the guitar.  We will learn the notes on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings and then play "Ode to Joy".

The Junior High PE classes have been busy finishing up their basketball unit.  The 8th graders will hopefully have a few days to head over to the Orme rink to play broom ball while the 7th graders will be looking forward to their floor hockey unit.  After completion of the floor hockey unit in both grades, we will move on to everyone's favorite--badminton!  Badminton is a great sport with lots of action and fun.  Students will compete in both individual and double's tournaments.  After badminton, we will continue on in racquet sports with pickle ball.  Another fun activity!  These are both great sports for family functions!!  This should bring us to spring break and right in to spring Presidential Physical Fitness testing.  Start preparing now!!!
