About The Teacher

Hi, my name is Mr. Benjamin Pogatshnik and I have the privelage of being the new music, choir, and
drama teacher for grades K-6 at St. Wenceslaus. The 2007-2008 school year will mark my 5th year
as an educator. For the past four years I have been teaching music, drama, speech, and
cinematography for K-8 students at Trinity Catholic School in St. Paul. While I am sad to leave the
staff and students there, I am even more excited to begin a new career at St. Wenceslaus.

I am originally from Sartell, MN, which is a wonderful small comunity just north of St. Cloud. After
attending high school I enrolled at St. John's University in Collegeville where I recieved a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Vocal Music, a BA in theatre, and a minor in Education.

I currently live in Chaska, MN with my wife, Carolyn, and our two cats. My wife, who is also a cathoic
school educator, teaches at St. Bernard school in Cologne.

In my spare time, I am an avid nature photgrapher, hiker, and lover of the outdoors. I am hoplessly
addicted to music, theatre, video games, traveling to the North Shore, and anything to do with the
Renaissance.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have, or drop by to see what
craziness we're up to down in the basement.

Mission of the Fine Arts

At St. Wenceslaus our staff and students take pride in our artistic and creative abilities. We are pleased
to offer classes for all students that tap into these abilities. The arts allow students to grow
acedemically, but also socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Students gain pridde and
confidence in themselves and their accomplishments as they grow in their understanding of these
disciplines. Our goal is to promote an appeciation of music and theatre by inspiring students to
perform, create, listen, and value the arts as a reflection of society, cultures, and life.
