Travel Journal Assignment
Imagine you are taking a trip to a Spanish-speaking country. While there you
visit (via. Internet) many interesting places. Each evening you finish the
day by writing a journal entry about what you saw (preterit) that day. Create
5 entries, one for each site, telling where you went, with whom, and what you
did there. Also tell whether or not you liked what you experienced. Be
creative, imagine big, and have fun!!
Directions: Don’t forget to save this on your H Drive as you will go back and
edit it later!!!
1. Find 5 sites of interest from the country you have been assigned along with
a picture and a little bit of information about each site.
2. Print off the 5 articles/websites about these site-seeing areas: Due__________
3. Powerpoint: Include a title slide with your country name and a minimum of 3
pieces of basic information (Capital, population, location, indigenous tribes,
when established)
a. Place 5 pictures (1 of each site) into a PowerPoint presentation with no
transitions, no animation. Just put the picture, the title of the place on the
slide and the location (city or placement on a map). Email this to me at

4. 5 Journal entries of 4-5 good sentences (at least 5-6 words per sentence)
in Word. You must use the 5 from the slides. Insert the title of the slide
that correlates with the picture between each journal entry. Be sure that the
title is the same name as the matching picture from the PowerPoint.

Completion of task: All entries are complete
Conjugation of verb forms in preterit: All verb forms correct
Comprehensibility:Reader can understand all of what the writer is trying to say
Use of reflexives, indirect and direct objects: Object pronouns are precise,
rich, and varied throughout entries
Accuracy/Attention to detail (vocabulary, grammar, spelling, word order,
accent marks, punctuation): Writer uses language correctly. Excellent
attention to detail.
Organization: Entry is logical and effective
