Mrs. Tally is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University (BM Voice
Performance, Magna Cum Laude, 1974) and Florida State University (MM Opera
Production, 1975). She taught applied voice at Southwest Baptist College in
Bolivar, MO from 1975 to 1977. While she was raising her children, she
taught private voice lessons in her home.
Mrs. Tally received her Missouri Certification from Central Missouri State
University in 1995, and has taught vocal music at Carl Junction for 18
years. She is a member of NAfME (formerly MENC), MMEA, ACDA, and MCDA. In
2005 she was selected as the Outstanding District Director for the Southwest
District of MCDA. She is the Past President of the Southwest District of MMEA
(Missouri Music Educators' Association).
All vocal music classes at CJHS are taught using the COMPREHENSIVE
MUSICIANSHIP THROUGH PERFORMANCE model. Student goals will include a deeper
understanding of the cognitive and aesthetic aspects of music, while
maintaining the high standards of performance that are a tradition at Carl
Junction High School.
