Students will research the structure of the government in Ancient Rome during the early time of the Monarchy, Republic, and through the transition to Empire. They will compare the Republic with the present government of the United States and, using what they have found out about the success or failure of those governments, present an argument that either Rome should have kept the Republic or that the Unites States should make a transition into an Empire as Rome did. Empire America or Roman Democracy?
