Well, it is finally time...for our first unit test! This year is flying by
and we are almost done with our Myths, Tales, and Fables Unit! I handed out
the study guides today, so you should see your child come home with one to
fill in this weekend. Just in case they don't have it, I have uploaded it
along with the PowerPoint we will use to review on Thursday. Just check the
Uploaded Documents page!
Here is what the schedule for next week looks like:
Monday: No School/Teacher Inservice
Tuesday: Literary Terms Memory review game
Wednesday: Review game against Mrs. Beck's class!
Thursday: Myths, Tales, and Fables Exam
Friday: Language Activities Day for any student who earned an 80% or higher
on the test
I AM UPLOADING THE REVIEW GAME WE WILL BE PLAYING ON THURSDAY. IT IS AN
EXCELLENT WAY TO STUDY FOR THE TEST! IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR CHILD TO HAVE A
HARD COPY OF THIS POWERPOINT TO STUDY FROM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Looking ahead...
Monday, October 17 we will be having our "Coffee House" day in which we read
our Lie Poems and we eat snacks! The kids came up with some really great
poems, so I'm excited for them to read them to the class. Your child is free
to bring the snack of his or her choice as well as a drink. Please don't feel
that it needs to be coffee! I know some of them were a little confused about
that...:)
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding what we are doing this
week! Thanks, again, for all your support!
Supply List:
Pen for editing
Pencil (the only thing you are allowed to complete assignments with)
Three pronged folder (you can buy these for about fifteen cents at Wal-Mart
and this will stay in the room)
College-ruled paper for the folder
Library book (we will get one of these the first week or two of school)
Positive Attitude
I also offer the opportunity to earn a language activities day for each class
that brings twenty five of the following items:
Tissues
Clorox Wipes
Pencils
College Ruled Paper
Crayola Crayons
Crayola Colored Pencils
Glue
Please DO NOT purchase these if you do not have the financial resources to do
so! Also, please understand that you do not purcahse twenty five items! You
will only purchase one or two and then others in the class will do the same.
We will have more information on this later!
I usually have lots of questions at the beginning of each school year, and I
am always happy to answer those. In fact, I have created a page of frequently
asked questions for you to check out! If you do not see the answer to your
questions there, please email me and let me know. I want junior high to be a
positive experience for you right from the start, so if I can help in any
way, I am more than happy to.
Please feel free to check out all the different sections of this site and
visit here often in the upcoming school year. I'm looking forward to meeting
you soon!
