My name is Sarah Ellison, and I graduated with my Bachelors in Secondary
Education from Missouri Southern State University in December of 2003.
Immediately after graduating, I continued on with my education, and in the
Summer of 2006, I graduated with a Masters in Education. I have been a member
of the Carl Junction Junior High team since the Fall of 2005. I love teaching
seventh grade English and have a real passion for reading and writing. While
I have extrememly high expectations for my students, I am a true believer
that learning can and should be fun. I do have one very important rule, and
it is the only rule of my classroom: Respect others and their property and
yourself and your property. I work very hard to make my classroom a fun,
safe, and encouraging place. It is my belief that the student should be
seen as an individual rather than part of a group, and I work very hard to
teach to each and every student's strengths and weaknesses. I work very hard,
and I have extremely high expectations for both myself and my students. I
consider it a pleasure and priviledge to be a part of the Carl Junction
School District, and I look forward to the 2009-2010 school year!
My mission is to educate every student who walks into my room in such a way
that he or she is able to continue to learn and grow long after leaving my
classroom for the last time. I want to leave a legacy in which students
realize the potential within and work hard to bring it to fruition. I NEVER
want any student to feel like a failure, or like he or she can't be
successful at English, because I believe that each and every student has
strengths that should be encouraged, and weaknesses that should be
strengthened. It is my honor and priviledge to direct each student on his or
her journey through this process we call education, and to create a community
of life-long learners.
