Objective- CA-RWE-3-1:Examine culturally diverse media
Music influences the world. Think about how much time you listen to music. It might influence you more than you think. Some artist use music to make a point about current events in our world. An author has a reason or purpose for the story, article, or song they write.
The three main purposes are:
1. to entertain
2. to inform
3. to persuade
We'll start by looking at a Power Point to remind us of the parts of plot. Then, we'll find the plots in these story songs.Parts-of-plot.pptDefine all the parts of plot and add them to the diagram. Then add the other definitions to your notes.

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves
Blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees
Pastoral scene of the gallant south
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
The scent of magnolia sweet and fresh

Here is a strange and bitter crop
