1.  8/8/2011  Orientation night is on Tues Aug. 16.  On Aug. 17 I will send home a safety contract and syllabus to be reviewed, signed and returned ~ this is your first homework assignment.

2.  8/18/11  I have most of the safety contracts and syllabi shown to me that were signed.  These will be added to the science journals tomorrow (unless the class period had time at the end of the hour today and we began the notebook process).  I have really enjoyed these past two days - the kids are great!

3.  8/24/11  Students should have their 3 ring binder notebooks now coming to class every day with them.  Today we are adding notes to study.  If you are having difficulty purchasing a binder, please contact either me or the secretary and we can loan your child a used binder or contact Bright Futures to see if we can help with a new binder.  No homework this week in science is scheduled, but they have a QUIZ in 2 weeks over lessons 2-4 in the EMM kit we are on.  The Experimental Design cheat sheet in their notebooks under the reference section needs to be studied as titling and graphing is on the QUIZ in 2 weeks.

4. 9/6/11   Quiz tomorrow over energy (study graphing, lesson 2, and lesson 3 - energy transformations)

5.  TEST over Energy and Forces will be on Sept 22nd.  All entries in energy section of science journal would be information that could be tested. 

6.  9/10/11  I have a study guide for the test on Sept 22nd under worksheets and study materials for Energy, machines, and motion kit - also have your child study their glossary section and the "experimental design cheat sheet" on step 2 and 7.

7.  9/16/11  All hours except 2nd has a contact versus noncontact worksheet to complete (both sides except diagram chart on #3 on back) that is due Monday.  Students were to study this weekend for Thursday's test and make sure their notebooks are ready for the check on Friday.

11.  11/20 sent out test reminder for parents of 2nd / 3rd hr
12.  11/28 - Kit test info sent out for Jan Test and notebook check for Friday 12/2 mentioned.
13.  1/5/11 REMINDER - test on Jan 13th over Light Kit.  Check out the Sound and Light documents over lesson 17 and lesson 18 (powerpoints) and the study guide for the test next week.
  14.  Quiz on Work word problems Wed 2/1.  Test on Machines and Work on Feb. 7th
15. Jan 30th:  I put the class work word problems under the machines and motion page as document that has the date of 1/31, in case you want to get a head start on the classwork we are going to do and grade in class.
16.  Jan 30th:  Friday's homework "Types of Levers and Pulleys" was added to the machines and motion page if your student wanted to get a head start on it.
  17.  Feb 17th- Due to snow day and additional time needed for students on Newton's Laws, the Final Kit test on EMM kit will be March 6th and our coaster study will now start on February 21st and will run through the following Monday.
