First I would like to welcome all of the parents to the new school year and I look forward to having all of your children in class during this 2011-2012 school year. I love history and can't wait to teach all of your children about amazing things that have happened, but more importantly I can't wait to teach your children life building skills that they will be able to apply in other classes as well as their own lives. The following supplies will be needed for 8th grade social studies for the 2011 - 2012 school year. Most supplies are standard such as pencils/pens and paper. Most items can be the same that are requested in other classes. For example, there may be several classes that require colored pencils/crayons, scissors, and/or glue sticks. Any of those items will also work in my class so that you will not have to buy separate items. It is very important that students will have a folder or binder for Social Studies only. I will explain to the students how I want them to orgganize it when class begins.
