Does your child need help with reading?
Here's how you can help...
1. Listen to your child read
2. If they come to a word they don't know, help them sound it out.
3. Listen to your child read a page and then you read a page. (alternating)
4. Listen to your child read a sentence and then you read the next sentence.
5. You read to your child and they follow along with their finger.
6. Find time to have your child read throughout the evening. (recipes, road
signs, words on the television or game, etc.)
Does your child need help with math?
Here's how you can help...
1. Make flash cards at home. (cut up a piece of paper and put addition or
subtraction problems on them.)
2. Have your child count out money for you or a cashier.
3. Ask your child what time it is. (using a digital and analog clock)
