What time does school begin/end?

The tardy bell rings at 8:05 and school is dismissed at 3:20. If
your child is a parent drop-off, they need to arrive before 8:00,
especially if they eat breakfast at school. Supervision begins
at 7:50 each morning.

Do you have a snack calendar?

No. Each child needs to bring their own snack each day if they'd
like to have one. All children may purchase a snack milk whether
they bring a snack to eat or not. If you'd be interested in
sending snacks to be shared with those children who occasionally
forget to bring their snack, I'd love to have them! Favorites
are Animal Crackers, Cheddar Whales, and Iced Oatmeal Cookies.

Do you assign homework?

Yes. Your child will be given an assignment sheet each week that
details the extra practice in reading, math, word study, or other
special projects that have been assigned. Your help on this
homework may be necessary. Homework should not take more than 20-
30 minutes when assigned and is usually assigned 2 or 3 nights a
week.

Can my child celebrate their birthday at school?

Yes. You may send a packaged snack for us to enjoy during our
regular 9:30 snack time or at another time during the day. A pre-
cut big cookie, iced cookies, or miniture cupcakes are great
choices. The large cupcakes with LOTS of icing usually end up in
the trash being partially eaten.

Do you need help in the classroom?

Yes! I enjoy having parents volunteer in our classroom and help
with special activities. Let me know that you are available and
I'll let you know when we can use your help.

Do you have class parties?

We have class parties for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's
Day. Details will come home closer to the party dates.
