Communication Arts
*When writing I can write neatly with correct spacing between letters and words, I can capitalize days of the week, names of towns, cities, and states, I can use ending punctuation ininterrogative and declarative sentences, I can use a comma in the greeting and lcosing of letters and in dates, I can use describing words (adjectives), I can substitute pronouns for nouns, I can spell words with simple patterns, I can spell grade level sight words, and I can use classroom resources, like the dictionary, to correct words I don't know how to spell.
* I can think of something that interests me and then think of words or questions to ask that will help me find the resources I need to learn more about this topic.
* I can find information about my words or questions in the resources I've chosen.
* I can follow a writing process by using a graphic organizer (such as 4-Square or Investigation form) when prewriting, I can write a rough draft on my topic, I can think about my purpose for wiritng, my audience, my ideas, my content, my organization,, my sentence structure, and my word choice, and then I can reread and revise my rough draft, I can edit for punctuation and capitalization, and I can publish (share) my writing.
* I can write friendly letters, narrative, descriptive, and expository text.
*I can give credit, through discussion, for others' ideas, images and information.
* I can write with an awareness of my audience.
*I can write text with a clar controlling idea and relevant details.
* I can write text using specific and accurate words related to my topic.
Math
*I can choose and use the correct tool and write the correct label when measuring length, weight, temperature and time.
*I can describe 2 and 3 dimensional shapes using attributes such as number of sides, corners and faces, length of opposite sides, parallel lines, etc.)
*I can use manipulatives to show slides and turns.
*I can recognize fractions of a shape. (1/2, 1/3, and 1/4)
*I can sort objects by size, color, shape and attributes.
