How can the teacher be reached?

This web site will show my planning time each day. To find my
planning time click on class schedule. If you can't call during
my planning time leave a message with the secretary and I will
get back with you. The number for K1 North is 649-5761. You can
also email me at nfletcher@cj.k12.mo.us and I will respond as
soon as possible.

What kind of homework should I expect in first grade?

Homework in 1st grade should not take longer than 20-30 minutes a
night. One night a week your child will have a math sheet. We
have spelling tests on Friday, so throughout the week your child
will need to study for the test. Reading every night is
important. In September we will start guided reading
groups so books will come home every night. However if a book
doesn't come home it is still important to read every day with
your child!

Does my child need to bring his/her BEE notebook to school every day?

Yes! Please have your child bring their BEE notebook to school
every day. The notebook is divided up into sections. I put
notes, graded papers, and other things in their notebooks to go
home. Please make sure you check your child's BEE notebook each
night too. The notebook is a great way for first graders to
practice organization and responsibility.

How do I send milk/lunch money or notes with my child?

Please put money or notes in your child's folder. I check the
folders every morning so if it is in the folder I will get it. I
do not go through backpacks so if it isn't in the folder I might
not get it.

If sending money please put it in an envelope labeled with your
child's name and what it is for. This way money isn't lost and I
won't forget what it is for!
