Our cold weather policy is pretty cut and dry. If the temperature, including
wind chill, is 31 degrees or less - we stay inside for indoor recess. If
it's 32 degrees or higher, we go outside. Our recess time is from 10:45 -
11:15. It seems that time of the morning it's right on the borderline...and
we end up outside even though it's chilly. So, the learning lesson is better
safe than freezing. Help your child be prepared and come to school with
coats, gloves, and hats just in case. Due to the amount of second graders
going to recess all at the same time and recess duty, we are not able to have
kids stay in if they don't have a coat. Thank you for your help!
