Welcome to Mrs. Karly DrakeShe is our student teacher for 6 weeks. She spent the first part of her time in Kindergarten with Mrs. Jennifer Chase. She is doing a wonderful job. Yesterday Jill Pyle, a dental hygenist for Dr. Kivett, came in to show the kids about proper dental care. The kids seemed to enjoy the visit. Mrs. Pyle left a goodie bag for each of the kids. That is what was brought home last Friday. Thank you to Jill Pyle for giving her time on her day off and bringing the treats.Tuesday, March 13th, is the House of Bounce that is coming to K-1 for our 3rd quarter celebration. Each class has been scheduled a time to participate. The guided reading books have been coming in signed and read. There are about 14 out of the 20 students who bring it back consistently read and signed and about 4 others who bring it in the majority of the time. I appreciate the participation and returning of the books in a timely manner. It makes things go so much smoother. One less thing to worry about/plan around. That just leaves 99 more things to keep track of. Thank you for your help.Picture notices went out today (Monday, March 12th). Keep an eye out for those.If you would like to volunteer, please let me know how and when.We will be gearing up for a science acitvity day for plants coming up here in April. I'll get a date to you soon. READ! READ! READ! Please take time to read with your child at home. Have them read, you read, or read together. Talk about the story, what they liked and what they didn't. Who was in the story and where did it take place. What was the problem? How did they solve it? There is a reading log in the CHEETAH notebook. Write down what you read and sign.
