| Students have Reading Logs each night Monday - Thursday. Some reading logs,
depending on the log, do require weekend reading. Please be sure that your
student is completing the log. Each night the student is required to read
20 min. (book, magazine, newspaper, etc.). The student may read aloud to
you, with you, or silently. Please initial the log each night (it doesn't
have to be a parent, it can be a older sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle,
etc). Each night is worth 5 pts., which adds up to 20 or 25 pts. per week,
again depending on the log. The reading log is added to the student's
Reading grade each week.
Students receive Spelling lists on Monday, these words will be studied
during a 1 week period. Most usually a pre-test is held
on Monday afternoon. Those that do not pass with an "A" are required to
take the final test on the following Friday.
Depending on the daily routine, schedule, and activities your student may
have additional homework. Please check your student's planner each night
for additional homework assignments. Planners are required to be filled out
completely whether or not the student has homework. This way the parent
knows what took place at school that day. Each night initial the planner.
