Communication Arts
Buddy Reading: The students are partner reading just for fun! Junie B. Jones, Amelia Bedelia,
and Triplet Trouble Books.
Whole Group Reading: Fairy Tales: Jack and the Bean Stalk and Giants Have Feelings Too.
Genre: Fantasy
Spelling : review week

Math:
Timed addition test: 6 students have completed all test and have earned an ice cream sundae.
Multiplication and Division: The students are using multiplication and division to solve story
problems.

Science:
Life cycle of animals and insects.
Social Studies:
Finished sharing about individual states the students researched.

Statements of Acceptance

Statements of acceptance help children understand we care about them just as they are …
the good, the bad and the ugly! Children can’t change their misbehaviors until they feel that
acceptance from the adults in their lives. Try saying:
“It is okay to have a problem. It is not okay to stay stuck with it. It is not okay for this
problem to keep happening all of the time.”

End of the Year:
The end of this school year is approaching quickly. I am asking for your help. Please encourage
your child to continue to learn and work hard at school. When the end of the year gets close
many students decide school is over and they quit working. I will continue to do assessments
next week. Please remind your child to be a good listener and work hard. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Domino’s Pizza Party
We are trying to earn a pizza party so please save heat wave purchases from the pizza box and
send them to school with your child. We have 15 and are working for 130 more. Field School
night is the 1st Tuesday of each month. The class buying the most pizzas will receive a pizza
party.

Things to save for Field School
Remember to save your box tops. We are collecting Campbell Soup Labels. Also don’t forget
those empty ink cartridges from your computer. Thanks for your help.
