Welcome to the Library Media Center!
We are located adjacent to the commons area just inside the main entrance doors of the High School.  We are so excited to see the amount of students and teachers that have been accessing the Media Center this year.  One of our goals is to offer materials that are accurate, relevant, and up to date.  We currently hold 4,053 materials in our Non-Fiction and Reference sections.  Our Fiction Section is the most visited area of our library.  We have a large number of students who read just for the enjoyment of it.  We are currently holding close to 2,900 materials in this section.  We also have a large professional library for our district employees.   We have 3 computer stations within the LMC which are used to access Spectrum, our online catalog system.  Also located inside our library is a 24 station computer lab.  This lab is widely used on a daily basis!

 "How can we help you?"

The Library Media Center staff might be small in number but they are large in energy, heart, and providing the best possible service they can to all their patrons.

Mrs. Melanie Lynde is the Library Media Specialist and she is aided by Mrs. Mary Pat Williams,  Library Media Assistant.  This team has been together since 2005.  Mrs. Lynde has been the LMS in Windsor for 14 years and took on High School LMC in 2005.  Mrs. Lynde is currently in the High School building on Tuesdays.

Mrs. Lynde is a true alumni of the Windsor School District.  She was a 13 year student!  She attended the University of Central Missouri where she received Bachelor's Degree in Elem. Educ. K-8 and Pre K, 1-3.  She received her Master's in Library Science from UCM as well.  She began teaching in Windsor in 1993 as a kindergarten teacher for 2 years and then 4th grade teacher for one year.  She began serving as Library Media Specialist in 1997.

Mrs. Mary Pat Williams is a much loved person at Windsor High School.  She has been working for the district since 1998.  She worked in the Special Education department before coming to the library in 2005.  She is a very familiar face with students because she has managed our local swimming pool for years and taught a majority of our students how to swim!

Both Mrs. Lynde and Mrs. Williams love to read and try to read all of the award nominee books each year.  They try to provide new and fun ways to encourage their students to read and develop a love of literature.   Stop in and visit and they will help you find a great book to read!
