![]() English/vocabulary/spelling Mrs. GillianCongratulations on the successful completion of first quarter! We have begun Vocabulary Unit Four. Unit work is due on Monday, 11/2, and you will take your spelling quiz on that same day. Your vocab quiz will be on Wednesday. We have completed a review of simple diagramming, and will move forward complicated structures as we begin complex sentences and verbals. This is one of those concepts that requires immediate attention if you are confused. Stop in and ask for help. We will move rather quickly to more advanced sentences. If the small group work with me helped you, and you are still a little confused, please make an appointment for another help session during recess this week. We have begun the pronoun chapter, with its nominative, objective and possessive cases. These concepts echo those in the noun chapter, as pronouns can do anything that nouns can do. Take charge of your education right now if you are not yet completely understanding these concepts, and if you are in need of a small group help session. A mini quiz on the first part of the pronoun chapter will be given on Friday, 11/6. We have already reviewed the pages that will be covered. As this is a long chapter, it is good to break it into sections before the chapter test. Thank you for your lovely Halloween gifts and wishes. Bonus question worth one point. Who/whom were you dressed as for Halloween. On a sticky note, write your name, your character's name, and the correct choice of who or whom for the previous sentence, and hand it to me before school, by 7:45 on Monday or Tuesday. Mrs. Gillian |
