FAQFIRST GRADE WEEKLY ROUTINE
When do I bring "Show n Tell"? "Show n Tell" is to brought to school on the Wednesday (1:10-1:25) your child is scheduled to be SUPERSTAR (see SUPERSTAR calendar). Spelling words for the week are brought home on each Monday to study during the week. The Spelling Test is on the Friday of that week. When is the Bible Verse recited to the teacher? The Bible Verse for the week is sent home on each Monday to memorize during the week. It is to be recited to the teacher on the Friday of that week. When is Reading Homework assigned? Monday-Thursday each child is to read 15 minutes each evening. Please sign sheet in Take Home Folder each night that your child has read and RETURN daily. When is Math Homework assigned? Math Homework is sent home on Mondays and Wednesdays to be completed and returned the next day in the Take Home Folder. Math flash card practice is to be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays at home or more if necessary. What is in the Friday Folders from the classroom? The classrrom portion of the Friday Folder includes our "Weekly Newsletter" which contains a preview of Spelling, Vocabulary and Word Wall Words, curriculum updates, birthdays, Superstar information, important reminders, due dates for items to be returned, class work that needs to be signed by the parents, STAMP CALENDARS that are to be signed by parents in the Saturday column, and returned to school on Monday with the Friday Folder and any other communication from the parents. Library books are due EVERY Monday so your child can check out again on our Library day which is Monday, also (see schedule). |
