Welcome Back!
With the ITBS testing complete, we are very busy learning new material. Last
week the children took their first chapter tests in several subjects. The
first Math chapter is complete. This week we will begin Chapter 2 on
Addition. The children need to spend time reviewing their addition facts. We
have also finished the first unit in Reading and taken that unit test. The
first English test on Chapter 1 is tentatively planned for Friday of this
week. The children are told several days ahead of scheduled tests to begin
studying. PLEASE DO NOT wait until the night before a test to review material.
A little review each evening is optimal.
Our first 3B Mass will be Tuesday, October 13. Readers and "backups" have
already received their readings. The children reading petitions will receive
them this week. Please plan on joining us for Mass! The first prayer partner
Mass will be Tuesday, October 6. In third grade we partner with fourth and
fifth grade children to form "Partners in Prayer". Each small group prays for
several members of our Incarnate Word Staff.
Adventures in Space day is scheduled for Friday, October 16. Information
regarding dress will be sent home on Thursday. Pray for beautiful weather!
If you would like to schedule a conference to discuss your child's progress,
I am available during my prep period 1:15-1:40 Monday thru Wednesday and on
Friday. I also am available before school on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
If after school is the best time please let me know and I will try to arrange
a time around scheduled meetings.
