Welcome!
Third quarter is off to a very busy start. Your child has received the
schedule for multiplication fact quizzes through February 17. The practice
test is given for five minutes. We check the quiz immediately afterward so
the children know what facts they need to study for the four
minute "Mastery". To achieve "Mastery" your child needs to score a 90% or
above. If 90% or above is not achieved, one retake will be given. I will
record the higher of the two grades. It is imperative the children memorize
the multiplication facts. Spending as little as fifteen minutes each night
reviewing flash cards will make this process much easier.
The dates are as follows:
Mon. 1/23 5's for 5 Minutes
Thurs. 1/26 5's for 4 Minute Mastery
Fri. 1/27 Retake Day
Mon. 1/30 6's for 5 Minutes
Thurs. 2/2 6's for 4 Minute Mastery
Fri. 2/3 Retake Day
Mon. 2/6 7's for 5 Minutes
Thurs. 2/9 7's for 4 Minute Mastery
Fri. 2/10 Retake Day
Mon. 2/13 8's for 5 Minutes
Thurs. 2/16 8's for 4 Minute Mastery
Fri. 2/17 Retake Day
The children are enjoying the cereal box project. Those projects are due
Monday, January 30. The commercials will be presented the week of February 6.
Our class will be participating in Mass on Friday, February 2. Please join us.
* A reminder to have the children wear warm coats, hats, and gloves. We do
take them outside for recess if at all possible.
