Fourth Grade English

 

 

 The fourth grade will take a test on Verbs on November 6.  We have been reviewing for the test all week.  The questions on the test will be similar to the questions below:

 

Underline the action verb.

 

1. Alex enjoyed the apple pie.

 

2. The postman carried the packages across town.

 

3. The librarian placed the books on the shelves.

 

4. Many horses galloped across the plains.

 

 

Circle the main verb and underline the helping verb.

 

  1. We have waited here for quite some time.

 

  1. Ben is showing his prize dog.

 

  1. Kay is enjoying another piece of pie.

 

  1. The students will receive an extra recess.

 

Next to the sentence, write whether the verb is in past, present or future tense.

 

  1. Yesterday we talked about the event.________________________

 

  1. Monday we will eat outside.__________________________

 

  1. The winds blow in from the south.__________________________

 

  1. The sun will shine this morning.____________________________

 

 

Underline the correct verb.

 

  1. Pigs (eat, eats) the grain in the pen.

 

  1. The farmer (harvest, harvests) the wheat in August.

 

Write the past tense of each verb.
