Revision #2 as indicated on the handout (see Eng 3 handouts)

Monday 1/30 - as indicated on the HW handout:
1. Add at least FIVE more active verbs to your draft by replacing dull or 
inactive verbs (especially words like is, are, was, were, go, went, etc.)
2. Make sure that at least three, but preferably four of the senses are 
present in your draft.  Be specific about how you relay these.
3. Add comparison details (simile, metaphor, personification, other) so that 
there are a minimum of THREE in your draft.
4. Explode a moment from your draft so that it is slowed and the reader can 
experience it in detail.
**IMPORTANT**   
•  Print your new draft.
•  Bracket the [exploded moment] and UNDERLINE every other change and 
addition to this draft. 
•  Bring both your old draft and the revision.  

Thursday 1/26
1) Complete Draft self-Analysis sheet - BOTH sides!
2) Choose which draft you will revise
3) Book Club sign ups begin Monday, 1/30 before school in the English office 
hallway

Tuesday 1/24
1) Finish narrative draft (3-4 pages!)
2) submit to turnitin.com and bring printed copy!

Friday 1/20
1) Draft first 2 pages of narrative essay (digital copy is okay)
2) Submit descriptive draft onto turnitin if you haven't yet!!

Wednesday 1/18
1) Read "Fish Cheeks" and complete chart (see handouts!)
2) Brainstorm and outline
3) Book club form if you forgot last class!

Friday 1/13
1) Complete description draft (2 pages minimum!)
2) Print draft AND submit it to turnitin.com
3) Complete Book Club preference form and get signed by parents

Wed. 1/11
Read "Uncle Willie" essay
Draft the body of your description.  Remember that you are NOT limited to a 
structured 5-paragraph essay here.  Use as many paragraphs as you need, or 
whatever length you find necessary.  Shoot for 2 pages with intro + body.  
Do NOT write your conclusion yet.

Mon. 1/9  
Draft opening/intro of your descriptive essay
Outline the details you will describe in the body
