Do planners need to be signed every night?

Yes. The planner needs to be signed NIGHTLY by whatever adult is
taking care of the student that evening (parent, guardian, sitter,
grandparent, etc.).

How do I know if my 4th grader has homework?

Each day students will be required to bring home their boomerang
folder which will contain any homework. Each student will have
cursive work weekly that will be assigned on the first day on the
school week. It will be due on the last day of that school week.
Also when I check their planner I will circle anything else they
have for homework that day. Please note that even if there is no
assigned homework that day, your student may still have homework
if there was classwork they did not finish. The homework
assignments will be updated daily on this site. Please feel free
to check it as well.

What are fact tests?

Fact tests are the tri-weekly tests that students take that cover
math facts. There are fourty problems. The students get a total
of 3 minutes to take the test. Any problems that are not
completed in the three minutes are half off. There is a Mathletes
board in our classroom where students are recognized for having a
weekly average of 84% or higher.

How often are behavior reports sent home, and when do I return them?

Every two weeks behavior reports will be sent home in their
Boomerang Folder (usually on Friday). Please sign and return them
to me in their folder, on the next school day.

What should I do if my child has not finished all of their homework?

Sometimes homework cannot be completed due to various reasons,
(schedule, illness, questions for the teacher, etc.) When
homework is unfinished for any reason please send a short note to
me in your child's homework folder explaining so. As long as
unfinished homework is not becoming a habit, there will be no
penalty other than having to continue to work on it. Please see
the link titled "Homework" on this site for more information.
