Third Quarter Math Concepts for Sixth Grade:
During the third quarter, the students will review the develop their skills
with decimals, fractions and mixed numbers. They will develop these concepts
as they learn about ratios, proportions and percents. We will then explore
how their mathematical skills are used in measurement and statistics.
Third Quarter Math Concepts for Seventh Grade:
During the third quarter, the students review the various properties of
operations and begin to work with ordered pairs and graphing in the coordinate
plane. The students will apply these skills to simplifying, solving and
writing algebraic equations. Our focus will then move to learning about
ratios, proportions, and percents.
Third Quarter Math Concepts for Eighth Grade:
During the third quarter, the students will continue their work with rational
numbers and solving multi-step equations and inequalities. The students will
apply these problem solving skills to their work with ratios, proportions and
percents. Our focus will switch to Geometry concepts as we work with polygons,
real numbers and right triangles.
